Dee (F)

Dee is a CatRescue SPECIAL NEEDS cat.
She was born in March 2018, without upper eye lids and was faced with the prospect of a life with pain and blindness. We were contacted by a member of the public asking if we could take Dee and we said yes because we recognised from her photos that she would need expensive surgery to correct her congenital condition.
She has  undergone corrective surgery which has fixed her eyelids. Whilst this surgery has saved Dee from a life of pain and blindness, we do feel she has limited vision. Given this, we are pleasantly surprised that she gets around just fine!

Dee doesn’t like other cats, however she is very dog friendly and very playful. Dee is a low maintenance cat. She loves following her foster mum around the house but does not like to be picked up. She has a magnificently long coat and loves to be brushed each day. Her tail is especially thick and fluffy!
We don’t think she is suitable for kids as she likes pats on her own terms –  when she has had enough patting she will let you know with a growl and sometimes a scratch but her foster mum has learned to read the queues and knows when Dee is saying “I enjoyed that pat but that’s enough now thanks”.  Like most of our cats, Dee is a little shy to start with but will get to know you quickly.

Dee’s ideal home is a quiet one with no kids but a cat friendly dog would be great but not a must.

Dee (991003000245554) is approximately 18 month old and is with Carer Kath in Turramurra, 2074. Her adoption fee is $250.

All our kittens and cats are desexed, microchipped, vaccination process started, flea and worm treated and litter trained.
